First Timers Car Show

First time attendees and those who are bringing a particular MG for the first time should bring their cars to this opening car show in the Hilton parking lot. Everyone should come out to view the cars and greet the new attendees and old friends.

BBQ Dinner*

Come to the opening BBQ dinner and visit with old and new friends.

Welcome and Orientation

This short session is to welcome everyone to Akron and to provide information about the events happening this week and the materials available to help you.

Tai Chi

Melt away stress with breathing exercises and improve mobility with Tai Chi. Often described as meditation in motion, tai chi promotes serenity through gentle, flowing movements.

No previous experience necessary.

Canal Boat Drive and Ride*

Take a scenic drive to historic Canal Fulton, In Canal Fulton, at 10:00 am we will take a private one-hour narrated ride on the St Helena III canal boat pulled by two Percheron horses. This trip is limited to the first 50 people. Due to the Olde Canal Days festival starting on Thursday, parking is a couple of blocks away from the boat. While lunch is on your own, there are a couple of good restaurants nearby.

Note that you cannot attend both the Canal Boat Drive and Ride and Stan Hywet. You can be to Stan Hywet in time to participate in the driving tour. If you choose to purchase entrance to Stan Hywet, the pass is valid all day so you could view the home and grounds later in the day.

Stan Hywet Hall and Gardens Self-Guided Tour*

We will leave the hotel at 9:45 am, park together at Stan Hywet Hall and Gardens, and participate in self-guided tours of the #1 historic home tour in America by readers of USA Today. This former estate of Frank Seiberling, a co-founder of Goodyear Tire and Rubber, features a historic 65-room Tudor Revival Manor House, Gothic Revival Conservatory, and approximately 70 acres of artistically landscaped grounds and formal gardens. The pass is valid all day.

Stan Hywet Box Lunch*

For your convenience, we are offering a box lunch at Stan Hywet.

If you prefer, there are also several restaurants within two miles.

Driving Tour

This scenic driving tour begins at Stan Hywet and ends at the Hilton Hotel.

U-Make-It, U-Race-It Session

Make and decorate a Valve Cover Racer to race in your own class on Friday. Valve cover racer kits and tools will be provided. Enrollment will be limited by the number of valve cover kits we have, probably about 10. This session is expected to last two hours.

Tom Wilson will be presenting a tech session.

How much do you really know about all things MG? This trivia game is not just for the gearheads, so everyone come out and have fun!

Hale Farm Car Show, Funkhana, and Box Lunch*

The GOF Central car show and funkhana will be held at Hale Farm and Village, featuring life as it was 200 years ago. We will leave from the Hilton Hotel about 8:30 AM. Your entry fee includes access to the buildings, grounds, farm, as well as period craft demonstrations, such as candle making, blacksmithing, pottery, glassblowing, spinning and weaving. It also includes a box lunch. Prizes from the car show and funkhana will be awarded at Friday's Awards Banquet.

Car Rallye

This car rallye will begin at Hale Farm and end at the Hilton Hotel. Try your hand at answering questions as you drive (the navigator should be doing the writing!) to compete for a prize, or simply enjoy the drive.

Operation Orphan Wildlife by Fran Kitchen

View native Ohio wildlife up close and personal. Though we don't know what animals to expect, Fran Kitchen, the founder and director of Operation Orphan Wildlife Rehabilitation, always bring interesting animals and stories.

Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Bus Trip*

Take a chartered bus to and from Cleveland to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. The bus ride is about an hour each way, with plenty of time to explore the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and grab a lunch. This trip will be limited to the first 50 people.
