Phyllis Elaine Hall (Thaxton), 70, died November 5, 2017 after an eleven-month fight with glioblastoma brain cancer.
Born August 10, 1947 in Akron, she attended Akron North High School and received a teaching degree from Kent State University. She taught elementary school and was a substitute teacher in Stow. She dedicated her life to her family, always putting others before herself and spent countless hours with her grandkids, always teaching. Her favorite pastime was her flowers, and had become an expert in arrangements as well as laying out beautiful wild flower beds in her backyard paradise.
She loved her 1979 MG B and spent countless years as a member of the Board of the Ohio MGT club and traveled all over the country with Dick in various MG’s and had many lifelong friends in the MG Club. Phyllis loved to golf, especially at Silver Lake Country Club and enjoyed traveling all over the world, her favorite being Walt Disney World. Her peaceful getaway for over 20 years was Apple Valley Lake in Howard, Ohio. Phyllis enjoyed hiking in the Metro Parks, camping and spending time outdoors. She enjoyed playing bridge and attending a book club with her friends on a monthly basis and volunteered with TWIG at Akron Children’s Hospital. She will be missed but never forgotten; every time we see a beautiful flower in nature, it shall remind us of you.
